Download TradeTape

TradeTape records your screen and your voice while you trade — the charts you were reading and what you were saying about them — and files it with the trade you actually took. The recording happens in a small desktop app; this site is where you watch it back.

Windows will probably warn you

TradeTape is code-signed with a Microsoft-issued certificate, but SmartScreen reputation is earned per build by download volume, and a new release has not earned it yet. A warning here is expected and does not mean anything is wrong.

  1. 1. If you see Windows protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway.
  2. 2. Check the Publisherline in that dialog first. It comes from the signing certificate, and its presence is what tells you the signature checked out. An unsigned installer would read “Unknown publisher” instead.
  3. 3. Accept the defaults. There is no administrator prompt.

After it installs

  1. 1. TradeTape starts minimised to the system tray, bottom-right near the clock. Click the ^ overflow arrow if you cannot see it.
  2. 2. Right-click the tray icon → Account… → enter your email, then the one-time code from your inbox. The window closes itself when you are signed in.
  3. 3. Press Ctrl+Shift+R to start recording, and again to stop. The first recording may ask for microphone and screen permission — allow both.
  4. 4. Your clip uploads on its own and appears on the Board here, under Search clips.

Turn on Do Not Disturb first

Recording captures your whole primary monitor. A toast that arrives mid-recording — a broker alert, an email preview, a 2FA code — lands in the clip. Settings → System → Notifications → Do not disturb.

Worth setting once so you never have to remember: on that same page, Turn on do not disturb automatically → During certain time of the day, scheduled across your trading hours. Then open Set priority notifications and empty that list — apps left in it still show toasts while Do Not Disturb is on.

Uninstalling

Sign out first (tray → Account… → Sign out): the saved session lives in Windows Credential Manager and survives an uninstall otherwise. Your local recordings and upload queue are in %LOCALAPPDATA%\TradeTape, which you can delete too.

Before you record anything, please read the Data & Privacy Notice — what TradeTape records, where it is stored, how transcription works, and how to get it all deleted.
